Purpose of the Order
The Eta Phi chapter of the Order of Omega was founded at Duke
University in 1987. Its purpose is twofold. First, it
is to honor exceptional members of the Greek community who excel in
the areas of scholarship, leadership and service. Second, it
is to bring together these leaders to work toward the common goal
of a stronger Greek community. Each semester, dinner
discussions and formal meetings are held to generate dialogue on
how to address important issues facing the Greek community at
Duke. Today, the Eta Phi chapter has 35 members with
representation from the four governing councils. They include
chapter presidents, varsity athletes, club leaders and university
scholars.
