In the early 1900s, the club V.D.W. was organized with religious, intellectual and social purposes as its goals. On June 2, 1911, this group was absorbed by the Omicron Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi, the first sorority to install a chapter on the Trinity College campus. Fannie Kilgo was among the six charter members.
Early Duke ADPis were fortunate enough to live together. The first chapter house was Kilgo House. Mordecai House also served as an early home to ADPis. When Southgate opened in 1928, the ADPis occupied one wing, which contained a chapter room. In 1930, the women students moved into the dormitories around East campus and the ADPis chose Bassett House, where the chapter room and ADPi section were until 1935. At that time the chapter room was moved into the Panhellenic House (now the East Campus Post Office). ADPis are still active all across campus today!
